What are the Sport Angling World Games?
Los Sport Angling World Games son el campeonato mundial multidisciplinario de pesca deportiva organizado por la CIPS (Confédération Internationale de la Pêche Sportive), el organismo internacional que rige el deporte y al que pertenece México. En lugar de una sola competencia, los Juegos reúnen varios campeonatos mundiales en una misma sede, a través de las confederaciones de la CIPS para la pesca en mar, agua dulce y mosca.
The Sport Angling World Games are the multi-discipline world championship of sport fishing organized by CIPS (Confédération Internationale de la Pêche Sportive), the international governing body of the sport, of which Mexico is a member. Rather than a single contest, the Games bring several world championships together at one host, across CIPS's confederations for sea, freshwater and fly fishing.

The 5th edition of the Sport Angling World Games will be held in South Africa in 2027. At the time of writing, CIPS has not yet announced the host city or exact dates; these will be confirmed in the official CIPS calendar.

La ruta de México y Baja California Sur
The path for Mexico and Baja California Sur
México compite a nivel internacional a través de la Federación Nacional de Pesca Deportiva, miembro de la CIPS. Los selectivos nacionales —que la Asociación Sudcaliforniana de Pesca Deportiva integra y registra para Baja California Sur— son el primer paso para conformar la Selección Nacional que representa al país en campeonatos panamericanos y mundiales. Eventos como los World Games son la cúspide internacional hacia la que apunta ese camino.
Mexico competes internationally through the National Sport Fishing Federation, a CIPS member. The national qualifiers —which the Sudcaliforniana Sport Fishing Association forms and registers for Baja California Sur— are the first step toward building the National Team that represents the country at Pan-American and world championships. Events like the World Games are the international pinnacle that this pathway points toward.
